Geometry
Cost: $120 per semester plus books
Class Description:
Geometry has three main areas of emphasis: the vocabulary of geometry, practical applications of geometry, and traditional geometry, including proofs. Topics include lines, angles, area, perimeter, volume, Pythagorean theorem, axioms and postulates, congruency, and similarity. An introduction to trigonometric functions is included to prepare students for testing they may do before taking a trigonometry course.
Homework: Weekly homework will be assigned on Fridays. 2-3 hours of homework will be typical.
Tests & Quizzes: There will be a take-home quiz each week. Tests over each lesson will be given in class on Fridays.
Grades: 9-12th

Course Prerequisites: Successful completion of Algebra 1.
